    • M. Howalt Focal Point is the closest thing I've ever written (well, completed) to a love story. It's all about (his relationship to) Matthew. I'm really happy to hear that it's interesting even though you were expecting it. It's so hard to strike that balance right. The hints have to be there all along, but not so obviously that it gets boring. Thanks, once again! Oh, about the quotation marks; yes, it's intentional, but since you ask, I think I'll go over that part again and see if I can make it flow more naturally. :)

I'm wondering if more than one day has passed by the fact that Matt doesn't bring up Robert, and the more startling fact that Sean can't even remember Robert's name.

    • M. Howalt Congratulations, you win at one of the secret little games I've been playing with the story: You're the first person to wonder about Robert's disappearance. :) Funny little story: When I edited the first draft after leaving it alone for some time, I thought I'd made a logical mistake with Robert. Then I realised why it happened the way it happened and knew I had to include it in almost exactly the way I wrote it to begin with. As for why ... I can't tell you here. But thank you for reading and commenting! :)

    • M. Howalt Wow, thank you so much, Ryan! For me, writing Pocal Point has been all about taking all those little moments and trying to make them real and relevant, whether they're boring everyday stuff or fantastical events. I hope that makes sense. In any case, thank you!
